I’m Judy Naillon and I teach Little Music: an ype early childhood education class for children ages 0-4 and their Mom or Dad. In our part of the world we commonly call these types of classes Mommy & Me. You don’t have to be a Mom to attend my classes though; any family member or caretaker is welcome! You can learn more about me at www.violinjudy.com. You can find the studio (like and follow to keep up to date on all the fun classes) on facebook at www.facebook.com/violinjudystudio
The Suzuki Method was created by Shinichi Suzuki after the 2nd world war as a way to make children happy. He figured out the way to teach music to very young children was to teach the same way as language: in an environment that supports listening to beautiful music with their parents involved, encouraging and praising them every step of the way and with repetition.
With this early childhood music program you see children who have advanced language, motor and social skills. This sets them up later to do well with a foundation of confidence and encouragement while doing something on a consistent level each week.
Parents find the listening ability and ability to follow multiple step directions is higher after attending Little Music Classes! Children gain confidence from repeating concepts and they are happy to participate!
The level of education and care in the parent and teacher create an amazing foundation of music learning for children! Suzuki Teachers call this the Suzuki Triangle. (Parent-Teacher-Child)
There are 7 Concepts in Little Music Class:
Every Child Can Learn
Ability Develops Earl y
Environment Fosters Growth
Children Learn from Each Other
Success Breeds Success
Parental Involvement is Critical
Encouragement is Essential
In Class, Children will learn to: Take Turns, Be the Leader, Learn to Listen to Other Children, Learn to Clap for Other Children and Perform for Other Children or Adults.
When we look at children learning and exploring at their own rate of progress, not comparing them to other children, while we manage our expectations around what should and should not happen, then we end up with a learning environment that is very positive! Thanks for exploring with your child and giving them the foundation of music learning!
Please enter about 2-5 minutes before class start time as I do teach before the class and need time to prepare. Please remove your shoes and place to the side of the entrance to make room for the next family! Be very careful on the stairs and wash your hands in the studio bathroom before group begins. Payment of check or cash can be placed in the folder with your child’s name in the grey box. Paypal is also accepted at www.paypal.me/violinjudy. Classes are $20/month or $6 a class. Please do not attend class if you or your child is ill! Please bring your tote bag with folder in it to every class as we will add papers and projects (and sometimes homework!) to it weekly. I look forward to working with you and your child! Ms. Judy violinjudy@gmail.com 768-PLAY
