A Violin Cat

Here is the latest book in my collection of “A Violin” books.  This one is “A Violin Cat” and you can purchase, download and print this piece TODAY! The price for this studio licensed book is less than $1/page and it’s yours -forever- so you can print as many as you need for your students.  Great for Last Minute Group Lesson Prep and Student Gifts!

In this post, I’ll share some pictures of the pieces so you can see the levels contained!

If you haven’t guessed, yes, it is a book with 100% Cat themed music and worksheets.

Having music in your studio library that your pre-twinkle students can play is a valuable resource that you will want to have for private lessons or group classes! This book was inspired by my sweet student who loves cats.  She REALLY loves cats!

Remember that with a studio license you can legally print as many as you want for your students.

These files come to you in .pdf format making it easy-peasy to screen share with students online via zoom. Yes-you can even email these files to your students to print at home during the Covid-19 pandemic!

You can purchase this STUDIO LICENSED book for $28 at www.paypal.com/violinjudy

My sweet little Violin student Miss F. just adores cats! When I wrote one piece of “cat themed music” for her (and she practiced it roughly one thousand times more than normal) I just HAD to keep writing more cat themed music!

“A Violin Cat” book has 30 different pages of songs and activities for your budding Violin students. As you can see in the picture above, the piece “Here Kitty” uses open strings with familiar “twinkle” rhythms.  There are also a few worksheets that are approved by my students as being “fun” and these worksheets incorporate the terms and concepts used in the pieces.  Each piece also has some type of teaching tip or helpful instruction for the student!

My pieces start at Pre-Twinkle A level and progress to harder Suzuki Book 2 type level pieces.

These songs are also a great opportunity to have fun while introducing a tricky concept, like using two down bows back to back for the first time and playing a waltz which involves the student learning to use “unequal” bow distribution.

As you may notice in Beethoven’s Cat, some pieces are arrangements classical pieces or folk songs, others are original pieces.  Students love playing a piece and then recognizing the tune!  That is a very rewarding moment for a beginner!

The songs at the end of the book are much smaller notes comparable in size to Suzuki Book Two, so you will be able to use this book with many students at different levels.  Another fun way to use the book is to have intermediate students play these songs in different positions to discover which position “works best.”

Don’t forget that with a STUDIO LICENSE included you are able to legally print as many copies you wish for students in your private studio for LIFE!  If you love my book, please tell a teacher friend and check out my other books:

When i was first married, my husband got me 2 kittens. I was not allowed to keep them in the house. However, when one particular student came, the kittens scooted in.
I was playing the accompaniment when all of the sudden, I heard him giggle.
The kitten had jumped onto his shoulder and had her front paws posed on his head.
Mittens loved this student and wanted to be part of the group. My student had 5 cats of his own at home, so I think a kitty knows someone is special.

That is SO sweet! I had a cat for many years, even though I am terribly allergic and she would HISS at each new student, but only the first time. Then she remembered them the next time they came which I thought was amazing! If someone new ever came with a student, like a grandparent she would HISS so I always thought of her as my “security guard” cat! At lease I always knew if a stranger was coming in the house!
