There is one thing that my piano and violin students have in common: they both need to be able to curve their fingers when they play. Do your students’ collapsed Joints drive you bonkers? Do you feel like you say “curve your fingers” about a thousand times a week?
I created this free download you may be interested in having for your studio. It’s a good reminder to keep lessons fun. With these 10 Phrases for Curved Fingers, you’ll have a variety of sayings, and one of them might be the magic words for your student! If you’d like your own .pdf to print, just type in your email in that annoying popup box and it is included in the monthly newsletter. I promise to keep your email safe! Thanks!
Another Way to keep fingers on their tips is with cool stickers like these heart jewel stickers Miss E and I used at her Valentine’s Day lesson OR something as simple as band-aids around the pad of the finger so students can learn to play on the tip. After doing this for one lesson her fingers are no longer “depressed!”
This works wonders for students!
I hope you can use some of my ideas in your studio and I’d love to hear yours in the comments!
